Vaginal Mesh Complications: Treatment of Bowel Symptoms

Bowel symptoms such as obstructed defecation (bowel movements), pain with defecation or bleeding with bowel movements are all symptoms that the mesh may be too tight over the rectum or eroded into the rectum. If the mesh is too tight, it will need to be removed or released. This typically can be achieved vaginally. If it is found to be eroded into the rectum, it will need to be removed (see mesh erosion section).
